Fisher Adams Kelly Wishes Fond Farewell To Founding Partner
Peter Cameron Fisher, a founding Partner of Fisher Adams Kelly, passed away on the morning of Friday 15th July after battling with illness. The current Partners of the firm extend their condolences to Peter’s wife Frances and their children Justine and David.
Peter worked for Nylex Corporation in Melbourne for 10 years before commencing his career as a patent attorney with a Melbourne firm of Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys, where he stayed for 9 years. He was registered as a patent attorney on 3 February 1983. He had a brief posting as Senior Patents Officer at BHP Co Ltd before moving to Brisbane to join a Brisbane firm. In 1992 he formed Fisher & Kelly with Robin Kelly and rapidly grew the firm until merging with Grant Adams & Company in 1996 to form Fisher Adams Kelly.
As Managing Partner of Fisher Adams Kelly, Peter guided the growth of the firm to be dominant in the Brisbane market. He retired from the partnership in July 2007 but continued as a consultant to the firm for another year. Peter finally gave up his passion of being a patent attorney to indulge his passion for restoring and racing historic Formula Vee open wheel racing cars. It is a great pity that illness overtook him before he could enjoy his cars to the full.
Although Peter has passed away his legacy will live on in the name of the firm he helped found.
